Foreign citizens may enter into a lease or rental agreement in accordance with the Law on Obligations and Contracts. For the rental of a dwelling a written contract is concluded between the person and the owner of the dwelling, in two copies – for each of the parties.
Foreign citizens can buy a home under the terms and conditions for Bulgarian citizens and conclude a preliminary contract of sale and subsequent final contract in the form of a notary deed.
Valid Bulgarian or international identity documents are required for renting / buying a home.
When searching for a home for rent or buying a home, the services of a broker or a real estate agency might can be used, and a contract for the intermediary service can be concluded.
