Bulgarian language training

Bulgarian language training for children 

The children of citizens of Member States of the European Union, the European Economic Area, and the Swiss Confederation exercising employment on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria called for short children of migrants, children and students asylum seekers or received international protection in the country under Law for Asylum and Refugees, children and students of compulsory preschool and school-age – third-country nationals enrolled in state and municipal schools, have the right to additional education in Bulgarian (Ordinance № 6 on the acquisition of the Bulgarian literary language).
The training is conducted individually or in a group – by decision of the director of the host school, respectively kindergarten, after an opinion of the coordinating team, determined by the state educational standard for inclusive education, according to the needs of each child.

Bulgarian language training for adults

Free Bulgarian language courses for foreigners (third-country nationals and persons seeking or granted international protection) for levels A1 and A2 are held throughout the year at the integration centers of the Bulgarian Red Cross and Caritas Sofia.

The beneficiaries of international protection (refugees and humanitarian status holders) have access to the  Programme for employment and training for refugees, provided by the Employment Agency.  Bulgarian language training is also provided under the programme.

Department of Language Teaching, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski ”at the Institute for Foreign Students offers Bulgarian language courses for foreigners. The enrollment in the course takes place after the payment of course fee.

Private language schools also offer Bulgarian language courses for different levels – both face-to-face and online.

The online application and mobile applications also provide non-formal training in Bulgarian language.
